We did a repeat of last year's cruise on the Fascination. Same week of the year and same itinerary. We have done this itinerary 6 times now and it remains our favorite.
We flew into Puerto Rico on Saturday 2/23 and spent the night at the Forteleza Suites in OSJ. I have reviewed this hotel on the Puerto Rico Forums.
Embarkation was very easy and swift. We got to the port around Noon and walked right on. We did have FTTF, but I noticed the line outside to enter the terminal was not that long. We walked up to the check-in desk, had our passports checked, picture taken and received our S&S cards. We went immediately onto the ship. Our cabin was ready and we dropped off our bags, had a drink and disembarked to buy more wine and essentials.
This is a handicapped room, the bathroom is large and accessible.
We love San Juan. So much to see, the locals are friendly and welcoming and the food is great.
We tried Sapphire Beach this time. It was not as crowded as Megan's Bay. The beach was clean and had a great view of St. John. We did not try the bar or restaurant. We found the workers there to be rude. This is not our favorite port, I might be prejudiced in my view.
Spent the day at The Boatyard. This is our go-to place for a beautiful beach, good drinks and good food. $25/pp for entry, two chairs and umbrella, welcome drink and this includes boat ride to swim with the turtles and taxi back to port.
Went to Viggie Beach. Practically deserted. No vendors. Had a very relaxing day, will return here again.
Went to Divi Little Bay Beach resort and spent the day. Beautiful beach, very nice amenities and no vendors.
