We booked the cruise because of the home port, the ports of call and the dates just lined up perfectly with our child's school break. We overall were satisfied we had the vacation and we were happy we went on vacation, but...

The ship was definitely subpar. It showed signs of aging everywhere. We had a leak in our room and with it being Thanksgiving week there were no free cabins elsewhere on the boat. They did fix the leak, but it took two days. We did notice other areas on the ship were leaking as well. The crew was positive and helpful, though it did seem everyone (cruise director, wait staff, customer service, etc) was a step below other Carnival cruises we had been on. They all did their job, but no one was really outstanding.

Also there was just less activities than we were accustomed to on this cruise. We ended up staying in more often than not as a result because there was nothing of interest to us on the entertainment list.

Cabin Review

Aft-View Extended Balcony

We had a leak in our room from the access panel servicing our cabin and the neighboring cabin. Our cabin got completely soaked and it took them a while to dry it all out. I wasn't too bothered by it, but my wife was annoyed being directly above the dining room. We were a little disappointed as the engine noise on the balcony was a little more than we expected.

Port Reviews

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

We went by ourselves to the Turtle Center. We prepurchased our tickets and spent 4 hours there. We really enjoyed it especially the snorkeling in their lagoon.

Roatan

We went to Arch's Iguana Farm, which my 5 year old really enjoyed. The adults were going to there because of the child. We then spent the balance of the day at Mahogany Bay and enjoyed the beach/ocean.

Belize City

We arranged our own private tour with Stressless Eco Tours in Caye Caulker. This was the highlight of our cruise. We booked a private plane ride from the municipal airport to Caye Caulker. From there we hopped in a pre-arranged golf cart ride to the tour guide. We hopped on a private boat and went snorkeling at Hol Chan. It was gorgeous and we saw a lot of marine life. We stopped at a few more stops as well and having the private guides was awesome. On the way back we flew from Caye Caulker over the Great Blue Hole and landed at the municipal airport in Belize City. This was an overall great experience, that would not have been possible through the cruise lines due to time constraints, but we made it with more than 1.5 hours to spare.
