My spouse has always wanted to go to the Galapagos. She wanted to see the unspoiled islands, tortoises, sea lions, penguins,..etc. A high school teacher of hers had gone to the Galapagos and rhapsodized about it, and made lasting impression. We've traveled extensively for work and pleasure around the world. My preference is not cruising - preferring to take a a couple of weeks in country traveling at my own pace and getting to know the place, - my spouse likes the variety of cruising and the organized activities. We comprise and do both. This trip we spent 3 nights in Quito before and 3 nights after the cruise. Exploring the city. Celebrity provided excellent support - taking care of all our questions, airport transportation, and anything related to the cruise. the adventure was everything my wife thought it would be, The crew, staff and guides on board Flora were excellent. The food, liquor and entertainment are nothing special ...its a small ship, very nice, very new. And you can only do so much on a small ship adventure. Cabins are luxurious. Some glitches need to be worked out. One night the A/V was out all over the ship for almost 24 hours. Unpleasant sleeping conditions even with the "infinity" window open no breeze hot and humid. Dinner that night was a sweaty affair and not really enjoyable. Some people slept on deck.. It happens. The sort of trip you take once and it was worthwhile to see...even for me. And I'd choose Celebrity again even with the glitches knowing whatever happened they would try to make it right.
Spacious, beautifully furnished with plenty of storage. Kept spotless by the staff. Bathroom was spacious. Two glitches....the shower leaked water all over - it drained slow and would leak out making the floor an ice rink.
