We have just returned from our cruise on the Pride of America - Norwegian Cruise Line.
Before we left, I had read all of the reviews and was worried that we would be totally disappointed. That was not the case at all. My sister-in-law and her husband travelled with us, also. They had cruised before and we (my husband and I) had not. Both couples were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversaries. We were recognized by the staff with cake at dinner.
Embarkation was easy and smooth. We boarded about noon and went up to the Aloha Deck. There we ate lunch and participated in the precruise games around the pool. We met other passengers during this time while we waited for our rooms to be ready. We were able to go to our rooms about 3:00. Our luggage was delivered within minutes of getting into our rooms. My sister-in-law said that the rooms were smaller than the other cruise line, but overall these were much nicer in furnishings. If we were disappointed about anything, it would be that we could not open our balcony to each other. But we just visited each others room to sit on the balcony.
Very nice. Excellent cabin steward. Plenty of storage for our clothes. Storage for suitcases under the bed.

Rented a car for 2 days. Drove the Road to Hana on first day, went to Maui Pineapple Plantation the second day. The boxed pineapple is able to be carried aboard the ship no problem. There is a parking lot for the rental cars about 1 block from the ship. Easy in and out.
Rented a car and spent the whole day in Volcanoes National Park. Easy to rent and get back to the ship on time!
We took a tender to the pier. Easy to get to shore. We swam and walked around town. We also went to Maui Pearl Divers here!. Fun way to get pearls! Ate at Bubba Gumps.
