One disappointment, one annoyance, otherwise very good.

Sail Date: Mar 2018
Cabin: Oceanview (obstructed view)

My wife wanted to take her son and daughter-in-law on a cruise. He had never taken a cruise.

The Ruby was doing a 4 night cruise from LA to Santa Barbara and Ensenada. We felt this would be short enough cruise to introduce him to cruising. He really enjoyed himself.

Embarkation at San Pedro was average. It was about an hour or so to actually get on the ship. Though boarding was suppose to start at 1 we were on board by noon.

Cabin Review

Oceanview (obstructed view)

Cabin OV

We were booked into adjoining staterooms - Emerald 415 and 417. These our ocean view obstructed cabins. However, the obstructions were non-existent.

The cabin was great. It was the first time in an ocean-view. As I mentioned, the obstruction was non-existent. There was a new bed in the cabin. It was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in.

Cabins E415 and E417 are above the Explorers Lounge. I was afraid there was going to be a lot of noise from the lounge. We didn't hear a thing from there. The only noise we heard were when passengers would walk by on the Promenade Deck one deck below us. This happened rarely.
