As mentioned the destination was amazing and the ship was wonderful, as we knew it would be having sailed on every one of the solicited class Ship except FOR the Reflection. I do like that the Sky lounge is now the focal point for late night drinks as I have always felt that this is an amazing space that was never fully utilized, and have to mention that the Bar staff there are all amazing.

Before the cruise we bought a 4 night dining package and was given a 5th night by Celebrity as per an agreement on a previous cruise. True to their word the invitation was waiting on the ship on arrival thank you Celebrity. This meant that on an 10 day cruise we had 5 specialty dining evenings, we had a few dinners in the Main dining room and one dinner at the Ocean view Cafe. The meals and service in the MDR was OK but not great, while the food and personalized service in the specialty restaurants were amazing.

I must however mention that I would have thought that as a premium cruise line I would have expected the service and not the quality of the food should have been the reason for going to the specialty restaurant. However it is clear that unless you are happy with mediocre food you have to pay for great food.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View with Verandah 1A

Cabin 1A

Perfect location 8th floor, one floor up from the hideaway and great to nip down and grab a quick morning coffee. In addition due to the position on the ship it a quite cabin and close to the aft bank of elevators. As for the cabin itself, it is a standard veranda cabin, with the bed next to the window . The cabin is an exact copy of the all other veranda cabins on the Solstice class ships that we have been on, with a great size bathroom and more than enough wardrobe space .

This cabin is situated on the hump mid ship starboard side, and as a bonus had and extended balcony with a sun lounger, 2 chairs and a table. Perfect for a relaxing sun downer, probably better on a warmer cruise destination. We had the perfect cabin attendant there when needed but not under your feet all the time – Towels changed without having to ask and cabin kept immaculate. I did wonder if there are less cabin attendants than before on the ship.

Port Reviews

Dublin

As we were travelling with a group of 80 we did not do any of the ships excursions as they are outrages with the price. Our tour operator had arranged and booked private tours in every port , that was the same and in most cases better than what the ship offered. The shocking part was that we paid for 6 days of touring, the same as what Celebrity charged for a single day doing the Golden Circle tour. This was a no brainier for us.
