Worst ship I have ever sailed!!!!

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Westerdam

I chose this cruise because we live in Vancouver and it would be a no hassle (airports) way to enjoy a leisurely much needed holiday. The first day should have been the omen that would tell us how the rest of the trip would work out. We took 3 hours to check in.. everyone had been instructed to leave because they had to sanitize due to abnormal amount of Nor walk virus.. Many many people got ...

Less Than Stellar Experience

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Pride of America

I am going to preface this review by stating that I have been on the Norwegian Pride of America cruise once before. The first time I went on this cruise we had a lovely room with a view, an attentive and friendly room steward, delicious and hot enticing entrees and well made drinks and service. Everything was wonderful, which was why we booked this cruise again. However, this year's experience ...

Anniversary Cruise to Hawaii

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Westerdam

Nineteen years ago, we honeymooned on the 'old' Westerdam, so we chose this ship, the 'new' Westerdam, for our anniversary celebration. Embark was pretty quick and easy, and along with the HAL transfer (from airport to cruise terminal) we were given an unexpected 'tour' by our driver, which was a nice surprise. We had a window cabin towards the back, which was cozy, with plenty of storage. ...

Surprised that we had to pay extra for dinner

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Pride of America

We were disappointed in the fine dining as there was an extra charge for food if you wanted to something besides the buffet. There was one dining room on the entire ship that was not extra. Our room was an ocean view , which meant we saw the ocean one day docked where the tenders took all to shore. The tenders were covering our view. Some of the attendants were rude, asked where to get hot ...

Excellent Cruise

We chose the cruise based upon the itinerary and the price. We had never cruised with NCL before. We were pleasantly surprised with the entire experience because we had read many negative reviews about the condition of the ship, treatment by the staff, and overall experience therefore we went in with medium expectations. We would recommend this cruise to anyone. We found the ship to be clean and ...

A CRUISE TO AVOID

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Pride of America

This was the worst cruise we have ever taken and we have cruised all over the world. We were looking forward to our NCL cruise around the Hawaiian Islands. This appears to be the only cruise line that does not start and end on mainland, requiring 8-10 days at sea and we would visit the island of Kauai which most other lines do not. The ship was advertised as being ‘refurbished’ this year but ...

We really enjoyed seeing the beautiful islands of Hawaii and liked having a couple of days on each island. The Pride of America is a very nice ship and has several complimentary restaurant options. The food was pretty good for the most part but not great. We did have excellent cheese burgers at the Cadillac Diner and the buffet was very nice though we didn't eat any dinners there. The drinks ...

The good, the better and the best

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Noordam

We chose this cruise for the itinerary. We had sailed HAL once previously for a Sea of Cortez cruise which we thoroughly enjoyed. The entire cruise was a repositioning cruise from Vancouver, BC to Auckland, NZ however, because we are not yet retired and the entire itinerary would have stretched our time off too much, we decided to pick it up for the Honolulu to Sydney segment. So when we got ...

We needed a cruise to return home to Sydney & the Noordam was leaving at the right time. We have never sailed on a HAL ship before, it was not our first cruise. Found the ship very nice, inside cabin very roomy & great service from our room stewards, The Buffett section was very nice & a good variety of food with exceptional service, the dinning room was also very good, liked the bit you ...

We booked the cruise many months ahead when great fares were offered for a trip of this length. The ship is 10 years old and is showing signs of wear in some areas. The Lido Dining venue needs new furniture. Our cabin was located on Deck 5. It was very comfortable and quiet. The verandah added a lot to our time at sea because the weather was very pleasant most of the journey. Our cabin ...
