Nineteen years ago, we honeymooned on the 'old' Westerdam, so we chose this ship, the 'new' Westerdam, for our anniversary celebration.
Embark was pretty quick and easy, and along with the HAL transfer (from airport to cruise terminal) we were given an unexpected 'tour' by our driver, which was a nice surprise.

We were disappointed in the fine dining as there was an extra charge for food if you wanted to something besides the buffet. There was one dining room on the entire ship that was not extra. This was the worst cruise we have ever taken and we have cruised all over the world.
We were looking forward to our NCL cruise around the Hawaiian Islands. This appears to be the only cruise line that does not start and end on mainland, requiring 8-10 days at sea and we would visit the island of Kauai which most other lines do not. We really enjoyed seeing the beautiful islands of Hawaii and liked having a couple of days on each island. The Pride of America is a very nice ship and has several complimentary restaurant options.
