Chose to get on it Germany because there is way too much to see in Berlin and port is 2+ hours away. Flew in several days before cruise departure so we could tour Berlin first. Highly recommend a Hop-On-Hop-Off 48 hour pass. Tour of nearby Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp is very affordable when purchased directly (just $25) and not as a Princess excursion. Took a cab back to Tegel Airport to get ...
We did the Mediterranean on this ship a few years ago and we enjoyed returning to this beautiful ship. The food on Princess in my opinion is a cut above many other lines but I did notice a slight change in quality on the many beef dishes. Still very good though. The medallion program is very convenient, however, there seems to still be some bugs to be worked out on the Ocean compass and now apps. ...
I wanted this cruise to see the great Baltic capitals. Mission accomplished. One can only get an overview on these sorts of deals, but I felt that all our guides in the cities we went to were very knowledgeable and helped us understand something of the people and the things we were seeing.
The ship is large, but never felt crowded.
We sailed with my energetic ten year old granddaughter. ...
When I booked the cruise, I selected the Berlin embarkation port. I did not realize that most passengers started in Copenhagen. The fact that we were on leg “c” of the cruise detracted from the overall cruise experience. (1) We were cut off from tour excursions 12 days before the cruise (not 5 as published online) because, according to Princess customer support “our cruise” window had closed, ...
Timing is everything, and we were thrilled that the weather was cooler and children were back in school (says a recently retired teacher.) Weather was too cool for the pool but that was to be expected; besides with these ports of call, we wanted to visit every port. *St. Petersburg was the highlight of our 11 day cruise. We were not expecting such a stunning city! Wish we had more than 2 days ...
This Ship is nice and well maintained. There always seemed to be someone out painting on the top decks and i never did see garbage or any dirty dishes about.
WARNING: We did have a huge setback however with Princess deciding to be the first ship to hook up to shore power in Norway. This caused our ship to have a power outage and fry some of the ships systems. As such we did not leave port ...
Chose this cruise due to the inclusion of Oslo and our ability to embark in Berlin. We wanted to spend more time visiting Berlin than Copenhagen. With Berlin not being the primary starting point our embarkation was easy with so many less people.
The ports were amazing but several needed to be longer by several hours. We did several private tours as they were a much better deal tailored to ...
We chose this cruise as we had not travelled to the Scandinavian countries before. It was beautiful although you need to pack some warmer clothes as on occasion jumpers and long trousers were required.
But the sun was out most days but a cool breeze
The food on board was amazing. The variety terrific. Whether you dined in the restaurant or at the smorgasbord I could not see any grounds for ...
The Good
-Clean and well maintained ship and cabins.
-Friendly crew.
-Elegant sit down dinners with good food.
-Expensively decorated ship.
-Generally rather sedate older moneyed passengers. This is not a Carnival cruise.
Needs Improvement
-Not great value for the money in my opinion. A pleasant cruise but really impressive in very few ways.
-Our cabin was VERY noisy, so ...
Second time around to take this Baltic itinerary! Personally I love cruising on Princess. Although sometimes, it is a hit or miss! I have sailed on Princess many many times and have already build up my level to Platinum/Elite! I love the many amenities provided in that level: free laundry, free bar set-up, free wi-fi (with Regal it it now unlimited vs. 120 minutes before (? don't remember # ...
